On 26 October 2026, the 70th Ballon d’Or ceremony organised by France Football was held
in London. Bayern Munich and England forward Harry Kane was named the world’s best player of the year,
beating Lamine Yamal and Kylian Mbappé in the voting to become the first Englishman to win the award
since Michael Owen in 2001. On the women’s side, Alexia Putellas claimed the award for the third
time in her career.

The ceremony and red carpet brought together some of football’s biggest icons — the other awards
were presented by Ronaldo, Andriy Shevchenko, Rafael Benítez, Patrick Vieira, Sophie Turner and Michael Owen.
